Andragogy is the study of how adults learn.

Peoplechange events are based on 4 key principles of andragogy, these are:

  1. We are motivated and interested to learn when we understand the benefits.
  2. We learn when the subject is personal and/or work centred and when we understand what is in it for us.
  3. We learn when we use our experience. Reflecting is a rich source of learning.
  4. We learn when we are self directing, and we enjoy choices and a sense of control.

Peoplechange embraces these principles in all services and events.

We...

  • Outline the benefits of what is being learnt.
  • Focus on individual needs for business performance
  • Build on and use participant experience.
  • Provide many opportunities of choice and encourage self directed learning.

We do not Stand and Tell.
We do Encourage and Involve.

Training and coaching provides the chance to do something new.
You will learn a new skill, behaviour, attitude or habit and this requires dedication.
People change because they want to, and when they want to.
People don’t change if they feel forced to, feel unable or cannot see the benefit.

Peoplechange training and coaching events use the spiral of change to assess the readiness of indvidaul change, and match with the most useful response.

The Stages are:

  1. Pre-Contemplation : The person is resistant to change.
  2. Contemplation: The person has a new desire to change.
  3. Preparation : The person designs steps to enable the change.
  4. Action : The person gives it a go.
  5. Maintenance: The person consciously works to maintain the change.
  6. Termination : Confidence of the change is well established.
